Practice

Make the first partnership practice useful

A small plan with room for explanation.

Choose a narrow aim

Start by learning the layout or explaining a sample trick. Do not ask a new player to memorise every exception while also keeping pace with experienced players. A calm practice should make uncertainty easy to say aloud.

Keep the reference shared

Open the same complete rules on a device or printed page. Ask one player to find the relevant section and another to explain it in ordinary words. If their explanations differ, return to the passage together rather than voting on a remembered answer.

Use visible sample cards

For a teaching exercise, put the sample where everyone can see it. Pause at a decision and ask what information is still missing. This is a learning technique, not a change to the rules for a regular game.

Finish with a short note

Write down one resolved question and one question to revisit. A small accurate note is easier to reuse than a collection of disconnected screenshots. Share the beginner route so the group can return to the same starting point.
